The Indian Institute of Science (IISc Bangalore) will conclude the regular registration process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 today, September 29. All eligible candidates are required to submit their applications for GATE 2024 via the official website, gate2024.iisc.ac.in. Those who miss this registration deadline can still apply for the GATE 2024 until October 13. However, a late fee fine of Rs 500 will be imposed starting from September 30.
As per the GATE 2024 schedule, the exam is slated to be held on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2024.
GATE 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have completed their bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, science, arts, or commerce from a recognised university are eligible to apply. Even students in their third year of undergraduate studies can take the exam.

Step 1. Visit the official website: gate2024.iisc.ac.in
Step 2. Click on the ‘Apply Online’ link displayed on the homepage
Step 3. Register using your mobile number, name, and email ID
Step 4. Log in with the provided credentials
Step 5. Complete your GATE application and fill in all required details carefully
Step 6. Upload the required documents and review every detail
Step 7. Make the necessary payment through one of the modes available
GATE 2024: Registration Fee
To secure your spot in the GATE 2024 examination, a registration fee of rupees 1,800 is applicable. However, female candidates and individuals from SC, ST, and PwD categories will have to pay a reduced fee of rupees 900.
GATE 2024: Important Documents
Here is a list of important documents required for filling out the GATE 2024 online application form.
–– A recent passport-size photograph of the candidate
–– The candidate’s signature
–– If applicable, a scanned copy of the Category (SC/ST) certificate in PDF format and size mentioned in the notification
–– If you fall under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category, you’ll need to upload a scanned copy of your PwD certificate in PDF format.
–– Certificate of Dyslexia: If applicable, a scanned copy of the Dyslexia certificate in PDF format
–– Valid Photo Identity Document: You must provide a scanned copy of a valid photo identity document. Preferably, use Aadhar-UID, but alternatives such as Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License are also acceptable. This document should display your name, date of birth, and a unique photo ID number. Remember, this photo identity document must be brought in its original form to the examination hall for verification purposes.
Notably, IISc Bangalore has witnessed a remarkable surge in GATE 2024 applications, with a nearly 25 per cent increase compared to the previous year. In 2022, approximately 6.70 lakh candidates registered for the GATE exam.
