According to sources, around 10-12 people have been injured and three of them are in critical condition

Three people lost their lives while several others are injured after six cars collided with each other at the toll booth of Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai on Thursday night.

According to sources, 10 people were injured while three among them were in critical condition. They have been shifted to Bandra’s Bhabha Hospital.

According to Mumbai Police, the driver of a car was speeding from Worli towards Bandra and hit the vehicles parked near the toll plaza.

According to sources, the driver of that car also rammed into another vehicle on the sea link following which he tried to speed up further to avoid being caught, leading to a major accident as six cars collided with each other.

The driver of the speeding car also sustained minor injuries and has been detained. His car has been seized as well.  Sources said that the accused is a 45-year-old man from Gujarat.

Earlier in the day, a private luxury bus coming to Mumbai from Goa veered off the road and rolled down to the bank of a river in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur district after its driver misjudged a bridge, a police official said.

There were no injuries, he said. The bus was carrying 40 passengers when the incident took place in the Sahuwadi area in the morning, he said. Bus driver Hrishikesh Jagdish Bhat (23) lost control of the vehicle and it went off the road and rolled down to the bank of a river, he said.

No one was injured in the accident, the official said, adding that traffic on the road was briefly affected.
