Suniel Shetty Extends Support As Chennai Grapples With Cyclone Michuang
Suniel Shetty has extended support to the residents of Chennai as Cyclone Michaung wreaked havoc in the city and nearby areas.

Suniel Shetty is currently captivating audiences on the OTT screen with his compelling performance in the crime thriller TV series Hunter – Tootega Nahi, Todega. The storyline follows Suniel Shetty in the role of ACP Vikram as he delves into the dark alleys of Mumbai’s crime world. Beyond his acting prowess, the actor remains active on social media, frequently addressing various concerns. Recently, Suniel Shetty has extended support to the residents of Chennai as Cyclone Michaung wreaked havoc in the city and nearby areas.

On platform X (formerly known as Twitter) Suniel wrote, “Heart-breaking to see the news of the massive floods in Chennai. My thoughts and prayers are with the resilient people of Chennai as they navigate through the aftermath of Cyclone Michuang. Let’s stand together, support each other, and contribute in any way we can.”

Popular Tamil actors Suriya and Karthi have donated Rs 10 lakh to support the government’s relief efforts in four heavily affected districts – Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Tiruvallur which have been heavily impacted by Cyclone Michuang.

At least five people lost their lives in Chennai due to heavy rains, floods, and significant damage caused by Cyclone Michaung. Several areas in Chennai experienced flooding, leading authorities to shut down schools and offices, halt flights, and conduct evacuations in submerged regions. The intense rainfall resulted in severe waterlogging, and due to rising water levels in low-lying areas, a mugger crocodile was even spotted on the road.

Previously, Suniel Shetty congratulated the government for the remarkable rescue mission of the 41 brave individuals from the Silkyara tunnel. He expressed gratitude and admiration for all these brave souls who emerged as beacons of inspiration. He wrote, “And a heartfelt salute to the unwavering efforts of NDRF, the government, and every individual who stood united in this mission. The world has once again witnessed how India stands united against adversity.”

On the professional front, Suniel Shetty has an exciting lineup of projects in the pipeline. He is set to grace the screen in director Swaroop Raj Medara’s upcoming family drama Udd Jaa Nanhe Dil, alongside Gaurav Kamble and Surendra Pal. Additionally, he will feature in the upcoming action film Code AI.
