The nation recently mourned during the Mahaparinirvana (death anniversary) of Babasaheb Ambedkar, as his demise created a significant void in the hearts of millions. On December 6, as India observes BR Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvana Day, the audience is introduced to the first glimpse of the upcoming Marathi film titled Mahaparinirvan. The teaser of the film captures a sea of crow during Babasaheb’s funeral procession, highlighting the tradition of dissolving ashes after a person’s demise. There’s a compelling dialogue, which says that there’s an aspiration to create history from the divine particles of these ashes. Prasad Oak takes on the role of Sri Namdevrao Vatkar in this poignant cinematic portrayal.
The initial glimpse of the movie Mahaparinirvan evoked strong reactions, with some expressing a feeling akin to a thorn piercing through them. Actor Gaurav More’s role remains a mystery until the film’s release. Presented by Kalyani Pictures and jointly produced by Kalyani Pictures and Abhita Film Production, the movie is directed by Shailendra Bagde.
