ZICO, the well-known artist and producer, is making a long-awaited comeback after a two-year hiatus with his latest single track SPOT, for which he has teamed up with Blackpink sensation Jennie. Scheduled to release on April 26, the song is about two friends meeting at a party. Ahead of the song’s launch next week, the South Korean artist has been teasing fans with sneak peeks on social media, featuring Jennie. Amidst the excitement, the artist recently treated fans to the preview from the recording studio by offering a taste of the track and Jennie’s soothing vocals. With its catchy melody and Jennie’s voice, the song is already winning hearts.
Meanwhile, the brief clip features Jennie singing, “When I’m going home tonight, there won’t be any party. Why am I feeling so empty, why, why? Up and down, round and round hit the spot, spot, spot, spot.” Meanwhile, the excitement doesn’t end there, as ZICO has hinted at sharing a bunch of behind-the-scenes footage and photos from the recording studio, ahead of the final drop on April 26. Sharing the preview, the artist wrote, “Sneak peek with Jennie.” Jennie also shared the clip on her Instagram story and wrote, “It’s coming,” accompanied by white heart emoji.

In his most recent Instagram post, ZICO shared the official retro poster for SPOT and revealed the schedule for the upcoming drops. Alongside the recording session with Jennie, fans can expect multiple content prior to the song’s release. On April 19 and 20, ZICO will treat fans with additional video and pictures from the recording session. On April 21, the singer will release the final recording, followed by a photo featuring Jennie on April 22 and a snapshot with Z on April 23. Later, ZICO will drop the first teaser a day before the song’s release, with part 1 of the music video set to premiere in the evening of April 25, followed by part 2 on April 26.

According to reports, Jennie has not only sung the track but also finished filming for the music video. Additionally, the Blackpink singer is expected to provide further support to the artist, although the specific details about her role have not been disclosed yet, but it seems like the fans are in for a treat.
ZICO last appeared in his 2022 mini album Grown Ass Kid, which included songs like Seoul Drift and Freak. Since then, the K-pop idol has launched the boyband BoyNextDoor under his KOZ Entertainment label. Meanwhile, Jennie collaborated with Brockhampton’s Matt Champion on the track Slow Motion. The song became her first release since the launch of her own label, Odd Atelier.
