When Arjun Kapoor REACTED to Trolling Around His Age Gap With Malaika Arora: 'We've Become Jananis'

Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor are seemingly going through a rough patch in their relationship. The duo sparked breakup rumours after Malaika skipped her actor-boyfriend’s midnight birthday celebration at his Juhu residence. Malaika didn’t wish Arjun on social media either, which led to speculation about their possible breakup.

Arjun and Malaika have been subjected to immense scrutiny ever since they went public with their relationship in 2018. The duo has often been trolled for the 11-year age gap between them. While Malaika is 50, Arjun is 39.

While talking to Janice Sequeira on her talk show, Social Media Star With Janice, Arjun had revealed why he decided to make his relationship with Malaika Insta-official. He said that instead of letting people speculate about his love life and jump to conclusions, he liked having control of his own narrative.

“It’s better to just give it respect on your own by stepping out and saying, ‘This is our boundary, and now we are together. When we step out in public, when we pose for you, you take our pictures. Tomorrow you write about it or we speak about it,” he said.

Addressing the trolls, Arjun said that people in India love to gossip and have opinions about everybody’s personal life. “People have opinions because they love having opinions. In India, we love gossiping, we’ve all become jananis (women). We all want to discuss ‘When will they get married? They don’t look good together. You think this is going to last? What does she see in him? Look at the way he is looking. Career will be ruined. This is said for the sake of saying… All it takes is one Friday or one interview where you explain yourself, all it takes is that much time for people’s perceptions to keep changing about you,” he added.

Last month, a source informed Pinkvilla that Arjun and Malaika’s relationship has “run its course.” “Malaika and Arjun had a very special relationship and both of them will continue to hold a special place in each other’s hearts. They have chosen to part ways and will maintain a dignified silence in this matter. They won’t allow anyone to drag and dissect their relationship,” a source told Pinkvilla.
