Renowned actor and poet Shailesh Lodha, best known for his role as Taarak Mehta in the beloved TV show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, is mourning the loss of his father, Mr. Shyam Singh Lodha. The actor shared the heartbreaking news with his fans through an emotional post on Instagram.
In his heartfelt post, the actor attached a touching photograph of Shailesh and his father, capturing a moment of closeness and love. Accompanying this image, Shailesh also penned a poignant message in the caption. Shailesh expressed the depth of his grief with the words: “जो भी हूँ…आप की परछाई हूँ…. आज सुबह के सूरज ने जगत तो रोशन किया पर हमारी ज़िन्दगी में अँधेरा हो गया…..पापा ने देह त्याग दी….आंसुओं की भाषा होती तो कुछ लिख पाता…..एक बार फिर से कह दीजिये ना…बबलू” (Translation: “Whatever I am… I am your shadow… The morning sun illuminated the world today, but darkness has enveloped our lives… Papa has left this body… If tears had a language, I could have written something… Please say it once again… Babloo”).
The post quickly went viral, prompting a flood of condolences and tributes from fans, friends, and industry colleagues, all sharing in Shailesh’s profound loss.
Shailesh Lodha’s father had been battling a prolonged illness, with his condition deteriorating significantly over the past one and a half months. Concerned for his father’s health, Shailesh put his professional commitments on hold, leaving Mumbai to stay in Jodhpur and be by his father’s side. Sadly, today, his father passed away in a private hospital.
In a final act of kindness and in keeping with his father’s wishes, Shailesh decided to donate his father’s eyes. The Eye Bank Society team promptly arrived at his residence in Basni in the afternoon to carry out the procedure. The eye donation was completed successfully, ensuring his father’s legacy of helping others lives on.
As per reports, the last rites for Shailesh Lodha’s father will be held at Sivanchi Gate crematorium on Friday at 10 am.
