One of the biggest superstars of the Tamil cinema industry, Thalapathy Vijay is creating wonders at the box office. It is directed by Venkat Prabhu. Apart from Thalapthy Vijay, the film stars Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha and Mohan in the prominent roles. It is produced under the banner of AGS Entertainments. It was released in theatres worldwide on September 5. It has set several box office records for a Tamil film. It has emerged as the highest-grossing Tamil film and third-highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. After two weeks, the film’s worldwide collection has crossed the Rs 400 crore mark at the box office. After 13 days, the film has earned Rs 413 crore. The makers celebrated this achievement with a poster while revealing the collection of the film. Thalapathy Vijay played a double role in the film.

On the 14th day of its release on Wednesday, the film raked in Rs 2.50 crore in the domestic market, thereby taking its total India collection to Rs 229.10 crore, according to industry tracker sacnilk.com. The film, which minted Rs 44 crore on its opening day has now successfully crossed the Rs 400 crore mark worldwide.

On Wednesday, Thalapathy Vijay starrer witnessed an overall Tamil occupancy of 18.08 per cent. The film saw 14.33 per cent footfalls in the morning shows, which later increased to 18.36 per cent towards the afternoon shows. The occupancy for the evening and night shows remained at 20.43 per cent and 19.19 per cent, respectively. It had an overall Hindi occupancy of 9.22 per cent which signifies a steady engagement. According to the makers, the film has minted Rs 413 crore in just 13 days.

The latest release of Thalapathy Vijay has left behind four of Vijay’s last five films. This includes Bigil, Master, Beast and Varisu. Leo, released in 2023, collected Rs 341 crore domestically and earned a whopping Rs 605 crore worldwide.
