Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Mandar Chandwadkar has clarified that he is not quitting the popular sitcom. The actor, who is known for playing the role of Atmaram Tukaram Bhide in Asit Kumarr’s show, recently took to his Instagram handle and dismissed reports that claim that he has quit the show. Mandar clearly stated that there is no truth to such reports and urged everyone not to believe in rumours.
“Guys please do not believe in rumours..and please do not spread it..TMKOC show have been entertaining all of you since 2008 and it will continue the same in coming years..just wanted to convey the truth so posted this reel…. lots of gratitude and lots of love..#tmkoc,” he wrote.
Earlier this month, TMKOC fans were left concerned after several unconfirmed reports claimed that Sharad Sankla aka Abdul also quit the show. However, the actor later addressed the rumours and revealed that it was not the case.
“No, the news is absolutely untrue. I am not going anywhere and very much part of the show. The storyline in the show is such that my character is not there but very soon Abdu will return. It is part of the storyline. It is such a lovely and long-running show and I am known because of my character of Abdul, it is a big achievement. Why will I quit the show? I can’t even think of quitting the show,” Sharad told ETimes.
“The production house Neela Telefilms is like a family to me and our Producer Asit Kumarr Modi is my college friend, there is no way I will ever quit the show. Jab tak show chalta rahega tab tak main uska hissa bana rahunga (I will remain with TMKOC as long as it continues to air),” the actor added.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah may be the most popular sitcom on Indian television, running for 16 years. However, several actors have left the show in recent years including Disha Vakani, Raj Anadkat, Shailesh Lodha, Gurucharan Singh and Jennifer Mistry. Recently, Kush Shah, who used to play the role of Goli in the show also quit.
