Suriya And Bobby Deol's 'Kanguva' Locks Release Date, Set For Box Office Clash With Alia Bhatt's 'Jigra'

Suriya’s much-anticipated project ‘Kanguva’ has been in the making for an extensive two-year period, with the crew now dedicating their efforts to the final stages of post-production. Promising a breathtaking fantasy action-filled journey, the narrative of ‘Kanguva’ transcends four centuries. Helmed by the talented Siruthai Siva, this film stands as the pinnacle of grandeur in Suriya’s filmography, marking a significant milestone as his most expensive production yet. As the fans have been awaiting an update about the same, the makers have finally announced the release date. Kanguva is all set to witness a box office clash with Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina’s Jigra.

On Thursday, the official X(formerly Twitter) handle of the film shared an intense poster, featuring Suriya’s fierce looking character, donning a powerful armour and brandishing a sword, as he stands on a mountain of slain corpses, illuminated by the fire burning in the backdrop. The same was shared with the caption,

“#Kanguva in cinemas from October 10, 2024 .”

Interestingly, just a few days back, Alia Bhatt had unveiled the release date Jigra, along with an exciting poster, which now coincides with Kanguva. In the picture, she can be seen staring at the ground, with a backpack on her shoulders. The backdrop is reminiscent of cyberpunk games, with hues of blue, purple and pink. She posted the same, along with the caption, “11.10.2024 | JIGRA | See you at the movies ♥️☀.”

With both the films releasing on the same date, it would be one of the highly-anticipated box office clashes of the year.

According to the source, the budget of the film has easily surpassed the estimated budgets of other big films coming this year.
