Sonakshi Sinha Shares Shatrughan Sinha's FIRST Reaction To Her Wedding Plans: 'Main Dundta Hoon...'

Sonakshi Sinha opened up about the first time she spoke to Shatrughan Sinha about marrying Zaheer Iqbal. The actress, who married Zaheer last month, revealed that she got Shatrughan’s permission before marrying Zaheer. The statement put to rest all speculations that all was not well between Shatrughan and Sonakshi before her wedding. In a recent interview, Sonakshi revisited their chat about her wedding plans and admitted she was scared to talk to him about Zaheer.

“I was getting a bit scared of telling him at first,” Sonakshi admitted in a chat with Galatta India. Zaheer chipped in, “So she said, ‘You go say.'” Cracking up by the memory, Sonakshi admitted she had asked Zaheer to talk to Shatrughan but eventually gathered the courage to talk to him.

“I was getting a little bit nervous so I went up to him and I sat down with him. I know my dad appreciates humour so I tried to take a very different approach. I sat with full confidence and asked, ‘Kya aapko chinta nahi kya, beti ki shaadi nahi ho rahi? Aapko parwa nahi hai?’ So I went with that approach. He said, ‘Of course hai, main mummy se puchta rehta hoon. Kyun kya hua.’ (I said) ‘Mujhe shaadi karni hai,'” Sonakshi recalled.

“He said, ‘Acha, toh main dundta hoon na’. I said, ‘Nahi, dhund liya.’ He asked, ‘Acha kaun hai?’ Then I told him about Zaheer and that we’ve been together for so long, he makes me very, very happy and he’s my best friend and so I had a very lovely chat with my dad. I thought it would be so difficult but it was actually so easy. And the best thing my dad told me after the conversation was, ‘You’ll are grown adults, you’ll love each other, toh miyan biwi raazi toh kya karega kaazi? Go for it.’ It was literally that simple. Once that happened, we knew this was it, we don’t need anything else in the world,” she said.

There were rumours that Shatrughan and Sonakshi might not be on the same page when it came to her marriage after Shatrughan candidly confessed he was unaware that Sonakshi is getting married. However, he later clarified that these speculations are not true and gave his blessings to Zaheer. The couple married on June 23.
