Sinners Trailer Out: Michael B Jordan Faces Mysterious Demon In Ryan Coogler’s Horror Film
The official synopsis gives us a taste of what’s in store, “Twin brothers (Jordan), trying to outrun their troubled past, return to their hometown to start fresh, only to discover a far greater evil waiting to greet them.”

Ryan Coogler has already taken Michael B. Jordan through the highs and lows of boxing rings and the epic landscape of Wakanda, but this time, things get darker— much darker. The first trailer for Sinners, the vampire thriller from Warner Bros., throws Jordan into a chilling, supernatural world where demons, not fists, do the fighting. In the trailer, Jordan’s character, Smoke, delivers a haunting line in voiceover: “I’ve been all over this world. I’ve seen men die in ways, I ain’t even know was possible." The tension builds as flashes of people frantically running from an unseen terror and a figure arriving at a church with a scratched face appear on-screen.

Smoke adds, “Of all the things that I’ve seen, I ain’t ever seen no demons, no ghosts, no magic — ’til now."

As the preview crescendos, we see Jordan leading a band of survivors into battle, with a preacher ominously warning, “You keep dancing with the devil, and one day he’s going to follow you home."

Coogler not only directed but also penned this eerie tale, which stars Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller and Delroy Lindo.

As one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed filmmakers, Coogler’s Sinners is generating a lot of buzz, particularly because it represents a break from working on pre-existing franchises. Warner Bros. landed the rights to the film in a heated bidding war in February, with the rare clause that will eventually return the rights to Coogler after several years.

Coogler and Jordan’s partnership goes way back, starting with Fruitvale Station in 2013. Together, they revived the Rocky franchise with Creed in 2015, marking Coogler’s first studio feature.

Jordan’s portrayal of Killmonger in 2018’s Black Panther helped cement Coogler’s place as one of the most influential filmmakers of his time, with Black Panther earning a Best Picture nomination. Jordan also had a cameo in 2022’s Wakanda Forever. In recent years, Jordan has stepped behind the camera as well, directing Creed III.

Produced by Coogler’s Proximity Media, along with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, the film has Ludwig Goransson, Will Greenfield and Rebecca Cho on board as executive producers. Warner Bros. has set the release date for Sinners on March 7, 2025.
