Coincidentally, Shah Rukh recently expressed his desire to play an assassin during his appearance at the 77th Locarno Film Festival in August 2024. While attending the event, he participated in the podcast Locarno Meets, where he discussed his aspirations for future roles. When asked about characters he would like to portray, SRK conveyed his eagerness to explore new depths in his performances. “I am not stereotyped; I am hero type,” he remarked, reflecting on how he tends to approach his roles in a larger-than-life manner.
The actor’s ambition to portray a villain stems from his belief that he has a fresh perspective on how to present a bad guy. “I think I have a new way of playing a bad guy,” he stated, noting that 2023 had already given him the opportunity to do some action sequences, but now he craved the complexity of an assassin’s character.
During the podcast, SRK also shared insights into his acting philosophy, saying that actors often invest too deeply in their characters. He believes his interpretation of roles should focus on convincing the audience rather than merely replicating the character’s traits. “My job is to make the audience believe in it,” he said.
