Rashami Desai Reveals Why She Slammed Ranveer Singh, Johnny Sins Ad: 'I Felt Bad Because...'
Rashami Desai clarifies that she was not upset with Ranveer Singh for his ad with Johnny Sins. She said that she is triggered by the concept of the ad.

Rashami Desai opened up about her viral post slamming Ranveer Singh and Johnny Sins’ ad. For the unversed, earlier this week, Ranveer released an ad focusing on erectile dysfunction. The ad was shot in a TV serial set up style and it poked fun at the over-the-top scenes shown in a few Indian TV soaps. Rashami, who has been working in the TV industry for several years now, called the ad humiliating to the TV industry. In a new interview, Rashami clarified that the post was not targeted at Ranveer but those who came up with the concept.

“It’s not about Ranveer Singh. I don’t want any complications happening. My words are very clear,” Rashami told Hindustan Times in a new interview. She added that she was triggered by how the TV industry is shown in the ad. “In television, we’ve never shown such things. People always make a mockery of the small screen, but they come to TV when they need to promote (films). TV has the biggest reach, but it is also demeaned the most. There’s no respectful balance. I felt bad because I’ve been working here,” she said.

Rashami began her acting career by starring in Bhojpuri films before she entered the television industry in 2006. The actress has appeared in shows such as Pari Hoon Main (2008), Uttaran (2009), Dil Se Dil Tak (2017), Naagin 4 (2020), apart from several reality shows.

While Rashami has expressed her disappointment over the ad, Ranveer is yet to react to her statement. The new ad was released as part of a campaign, #TakeBoldCareOfHer. Ranveer, who is the brand ambassador of Bold Care, doubled up as Johnny’s brother-in-law in an Indian television drama style to talk about sex problems. Ranveer is the co-founder of the company. In a statement to the press, Ranveer said it is his ‘sincere intent to use (his) influence for raising awareness and making a positive impact.”
