Rakhi Sawant Detained By Punjab Police For Making Objectionable Comments On Sage Valmiki

Actress Rakhi Sawant has reportedly been detained by the Punjab Police in Mumbai for making objectionable comments on Poet Sage Valmiki. A Punjab Police Team was sent to Mumbai to carry out the arrest.

Earlier, the court had issued the arrest warrant after Sawant failed to appear before it on March 9 in a case filed against her for making derogatory remarks against sage Valmiki who wrote the Ramayana.

On Tuesday, ANI reported that the police had arrested the actress.

The complainants had accused Sawant of hurting religious sentiments of the Valmiki community by her remarks during a TV show. Meanwhile Rakhi in a video issued an apology a few days back stating that her knowledge on Sage Valmiki was based on what she had learnt in school.
