Nagarjuna Files Criminal Defamation Case Against Konda Surekha For Claims About Samantha-Chay Divorce

Nagarjuna has filed a criminal defamation case against Konda Surekha regarding her shocking claims. On Wednesday, the Telangana political leader claimed that KTR’s interference led to a rift in Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s relationship, resulting in a divorce.

Nagarjuna had previously mentioned that he would take legal action against the minister for her claims. Now, the actor has filed a criminal defamation case against Surekha.

Nagarjuna had told Times Now, “I am in Vizag. I am heading back to Hyderabad for action ahead,” he said before adding, “Oh, absolutely! A hundred per cent. We can’t let this go. Not at all. I am rushing back with lawyers.”

Surekha recently claimed that Rama Rao was responsible for the split between Naga Chaitanya and Samantha, sparking a wave of controversy. According to Surekha, KTR’s alleged interference caused disturbances in the Akkineni family, which ultimately led to the high-profile divorce.

Konda Surekha claimed that KT Rama Rao demanded that Samantha be sent to him in exchange for sparing Nagarjuna Akkineni’s N-Convention Centre from demolition. According to Surekha, when Samantha refused, it led to her separation from Naga Chaitanya.

KTR issued a legal notice to Konda Surekha to withdraw her statement as well. While she has retracted the statement, it has created a massive uproar in the film industry.

Taking to X, Nagarjuna condemned the allegations. He said, “I strongly condemn the comments of the Honorable Minister Mrs. Konda Surekha. Don’t use the lives of movie stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect other people’s privacy. As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and accusations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to withdraw your comments immediately.”

Naga Chaitanya also reacted to the claims. Chaitanya called the claims “ridiculous” and clarified the situation. “The decision of divorce is easily one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one has to make. After a lot of thought, a mutual decision was made by me and my former spouse to part ways.” Several stars such as Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi and Nani stood up for the Akkineni family and Samantha.
