The makers of the film Stree, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, have come up with yet another horror comedy. Stree was highly praised by the audience. The film recorded a good box office collection. After around five years, the makers of the film are ready with another horror film named Munjya. This film is set to feature India’s first CGI (Computer-generated Image) character in the leading role. The upcoming horror film is set to be produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films. The production house posted the teaser of the film on its official X handle (formerly Twitter).

The 1 minute 24-second teaser of the upcoming horror film starts with showing a dark jungle setup. As the scene starts, the teaser introduces the character of Munjya, who is a CGI character. Munjya comes into action as he hears the popular song Munni Badnam Hui from the famous 2010 Bollywood film Dabangg starring superstar Salman Khan. The creature enters a city with the aim to find out the source of the music. Soon after that, he started peeping inside the room in which some people were watching the music video. As the television is switched off, the creature Munjya gets angry and jumps into the room to attack the people present there.
At the end of the teaser, a text appears on the screen saying, “Munnis Beware. He is coming." According to the released teaser, the trailer of the film is set to release on May 24.
The upcoming horror cum comedy film is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, while the story is written by Yogesh Chandekar and assisted by Tushar Ajgaonkar and Niren Bhatt. Actors like Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma, Mona Singh, and Suhas Joshi are set to be seen in leading roles. The music of the film has been composed by Sachin Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya, while the cinematography is done by John Jacob Payyapalli. The film is set to hit the theatres on June 7, 2024.
