Indira Krishnan will be seen portraying the role of Ranbir Kapoor's mother in Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus Ramayana.

Actor Indira Krishnan, who will share the screen with Ranbir Kapoor in Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus Ramayana, dropped birthday wishes for her co-star on Instagram. Sharing a photo with Ranbir, Indira wrote, “Happy birthday to the most loved one Ranbir Kapoor. May you be blessed with all abundance and may Mahadev give you the best life with your work and family. Cheers to our memories and our talks ..keep surging and keep smiling always like u do. Love and light Indira.”

The snapshot features the duo sharing a warm hug with bright smiles on their faces. Ranbir can be seen in a grey t-shirt and a matching French cabbie hat, while Indira wore a green shirt.

Indira Krishnan is known for her roles in TV shows like Durga, Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii and Firangi Bahu.

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana will see Ranbir playing the role of Lord Ram opposite Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. Indira, on the other hand, will reportedly play Kaushalya, mother of Lord Ram.

Indira was also a part of Ranbir’s last film Animal, wherein she played the role of Rashmika Mandana’s mother.

Talking about her experience of working with Ranbir Kapoor, Indira called him one of the finest actors in India.

“He is one of the finest actors in our country. Be it his behaviour or his acting skills, he’s just exceptional,” she said in an interview with Pinkvilla.

Indira further revealed that on the final day of the Animal shoot, she told Ranbir that she wanted to portray his mother someday. “Two years later, I walked into the script reading for Ramayana and didn’t even know he was playing Ram,” she added.

Talking about Ranbir, the actor will also be seen in director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love and War co-starring Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt.

The film is expected to go on floors in December this year and will hit the theatres in March next year.

Apart from Animal, Indira has worked in films like Holiday: The Soldier Is Never Off Duty, Tathasthu, Tere Naam, Chatur Singh Two Star and more.
