Namashi Chakraborty, Mithun Chakraborty’s son, spoke about the fame enjoyed by people like Orry while he battles to succeed in the film industry. In an interview, Namashi, who has acted in only one film, talked about his privileges but also mentioned how he struggled for years to get auditions in Mumbai.
Speaking to Bollywood Thikana, he opened up on why he doesn’t get photographed by the paparazzi like other star kids. He said, “I tried doing that for a month. I used to rent out clothes and pose, but that didn’t get me any work, so I decided to stop doing it. Let me tell you a story from just last week. I was sitting in Soho House, and my friend asked me what I do for a living. I told him I’m an actor, and I’m Mithun’s son. He was very impressed. He saw my social media, and asked, ‘Bro are you friends with Orry?’”
Namashi was surprised by the question and thought about all the hard work he has done to become a hero. “I thought about all the hard work I’ve done to become a hero, the struggles I’ve had for three years in Aaram Nagar, I’m the son of such a big star, but here’s this guy who pouts and takes selfies and more people know him. I’m stressed, maybe I need to get spotted more. I want to be as famous as Orry. But in all seriousness, that’s not the kind of fame I want,” he said.
In 2008, Namashi’s eldest brother, Mimoh Chakraborty, made his foray into films with Jimmy. However, the film underperformed and his career didn’t take off in the way he expected it to. His second brother, Ushmey Chakraborty, acted in and directed a few films but they didn’t grab any limelight either.
