Mallika Sherawat is back in Mumbai, just in time for the release of her comeback film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. On Monday, she was spotted in the streets of Mumbai. The actress was seen interacting with the paparazzi when a cameraman called her ‘Malaika’ instead of Mallika, seemingly referring to Malaika Arora. Mallika did not ignore the mistake. Instead, she pulled up the paparazzo.
In a video shared online, a cameraman wanted her to posed for him. ‘Malaika ma’am…’ a cameraman said, which instantly caught her attention. “Arre, Mallika…” she corrected before she walked up to him and pulled his ears. “Iske kaan kheecho,” she said and eventually pulled his ears.
She also urged the paparazzi to watch Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video with the family. “It is a family film, watch it with your family and kids. Even if you don’t have children, make babies and go,” she said. Watch the video below:
At the trailer launch, director Raaj Shaandilyaa and producer Bhushan Kumar shared insights on what prompted them to bring her back to Bollywood’s commercial space. The producer revealed it was Raaj’s idea to cast her in the film.
Co-producer Vipul D Shah teased Raaj over the casting. “Raaj ki fantasy,” he joked, leaving the director red. “Aap successful hote ho toh aapko lagta hai, Bheegey Hont Tere,” he added, referring to Mallika’s famous song from the film Murder. However, Raaj clarified that it wasn’t the case. He decided to rope in Mallika because the script had a role that she was perfect for.
“The reason I brought in Mallika was that the role that is written, it suited her well. The role tries to depict the ‘modern woman’ of the late 1990s. Mallika fitted the role perfectly. That is why we cast her. Otherwise, I have no relationship with her,” he said.
