The latest Malayalam thriller Thalavan is receiving a positive response all over the state. The film stars Biju Menon, Asif Ali, Miya George, Anusree, Dileesh Pothan and Kottayam Nazeer in the lead roles. It was released on May 24.
Recently, the Minister of Ports and Cooperation of Kerala VN Vasavan was present at the success event of the film. In the video shared by the film crew on social media, Vasavan was seen celebrating along with the Thalavan team. Vasavan was spotted cutting the cake with the film cast and crew members at Kottayam Asha Theatre in Kerala.
The film continues to garner good box office and audience response in its second week. Director Jis Jo’s departure from feel-good films benefits the audience with an excellent thriller. Thalavan shows the audience the problems that arise between two police officers of different ranks. The film is produced by Arun Narayan and Sijo Sebastian under the banners of Arun Narayan Productions and London Studios.
Director Jis Joy, known for his successful collaboration with actor Asif Ali in four previous films, reunites with Ali and introduces actor Biju Menon in this project. The screenplay has been penned by debutants Anand Thevarkatt and Sharath Perumbavoor. Arun Narayan, known for producing Eesho and Chaaver, co-produced the film with Sijo Sebastian.
The huge cast includes Miya George, Dileesh Pothan and Shankar Ramakrishnan in pivotal roles. Biju Menon’s portrayal as a cop fits seamlessly with his previous experience in similar roles. Director Jis Joy considers Thalavan to be his most ambitious project yet in terms of scope and scale. According to Indian box office tracker Sacnilk, Thalavan performed well in its first nine days at the box office, grossing an estimated Rs 8.05 crore nett in India. It showed a steady growth at the box office.
