Kangana Ranaut On Sexism In Bollywood: I Don't Succumb To That
On the professional front, the actress was last seen in 'Rangoon' co-starring Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.

National Award winning actress Kangana Ranaut has often made headlines for her opinions and has never shied away from voicing them.

In an interaction with CNN News18's entertainment editor Rajeev Masand, the actress opened up about the sexism in Bollywood and said that it lies not just in the industry but in the scripts too.

"We do not have lovable ambitious characters when it comes to women. When a man does that, he's called a maverick, multi-faceted and saviour but when a woman does that she becomes ruthless. Selfish is the word given to them".

"And that's the trick our society plays. I don't succumb to that."

Having no qualms in accepting that she's always been ambitious she said, "I'm very possessive about my credit - whether they are financial or artistic. I'm very greedy for that."

She expressed her disappointment over the fact than "women are taken for a ride" and went on to cite her dream.

"My ultimate dream is to be autonomous in every sense and to be this self sufficient entity who operates on her own," said the actress who was last seen in Rangoon co-starring Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
