Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan's highly anticipated Kalki 2898 AD is all set to release on June 27.

Prabhas’ eagerly awaited sci-fi blockbuster ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is poised to captivate global audiences when it premieres on June 27, 2024. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani in the pivotal roles. The actor has now finally revealed the trailer launch date of his film with a new poster. 

Prabhas shared the poster and shared that the highly anticipated film trailer is all set to release on June 10th. “Unveiling the future. #Kalki2898AD Trailer on June 10th!,” his caption read.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Prabhas, revealed that Kalki 2898 AD is “made for international audiences.” He stated, “The whole film is made for international audiences. That’s why it’s the highest budget, and we’ve got the best actors in the country.” Discussing his title as a pan-Indian star, he added, “We were hearing for the first time people calling me ‘pan-Indian’. That doesn’t really affect me, but it’s a good feeling to think that people around the country like me now.”

The film, set in a dystopian world, features Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan as forces uniting to end the world’s darkness. The event’s photos were shared on social media with the caption, “Rebel Star Prabhas at Bujji x Bhairava event.” ICYMI, here’s what we’re talking about:

Directed by Nag Ashwin, best known for the National Award-winning 2018 biographical drama Mahanati, Kalki 2898 – AD marks the first collaboration between Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. While Deepika and Amitabh Bachchan have previously co-starred in the 2015 film Piku, they will also appear together in the Hindi remake of the Hollywood film The Intern, originally starring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro.

Previously, Nag Ashwin opened up about the timeline of the film. At the Synapse 2024 event in Gurgaon, Nag Ashwin revealed that the film’s timeline will commence with Mahabharat. He stated, “The film starts with Mahabharat and ends in 2898 AD. It spans 6000 years in time. We tried to create worlds, imagining what they would be like while still keeping it Indian, and not making it look like Blade Runner. The film begins 6000 years behind 2898 AD is 3102 BC, which is when the last avatar of Krishna is believed to have passed.”
