Janhvi Kapoor recently got candid about her struggles with period pain and how it has impacted her life, including her relationship. The actress, who is currently dating Shikhar Pahariya, shared that during the early years of her periods, the pain and emotional turmoil would often lead to her breaking up every month. “In the couple of years of my periods, every month I would break up with this person. The first two or three months, he would be in shock, but after that, he would be like, ‘Yes, okay,’ and after two days, I would go back to him crying and saying sorry. I wouldn’t understand why my brain was working like this. It was very extreme,” she revealed.
The intensity of her symptoms not only caused her physical pain but also disrupted her emotional stability, leading to repeated breakups and reconciliations with her then-boyfriend.
Janhvi further explained how her busy schedule affects her perception of pain. “It’s so weird whenever I’m in a hectic schedule, I don’t feel the pain so much,” she added.
When asked if she uses a hot water bag or other pain relief methods, Janhvi replied, “No, I don’t feel pain when I’m in the middle of a shoot schedule, but when I’m free at home or there’s just one event or random ad shoot, the pain is like paralysing. Last time, I got a hip pain. I got muscle pain suddenly. Before it used to be my back. I thought I pulled my muscle or there was some sort of injury but it was a PMS thing. There was a phase when my nose would bleed.”
Janhvi Kapoor is staying very active in her career these days. Following the positive reception of her performance in Sharan Sharma’s ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi,’ where she starred opposite Rajkummar Rao, she is now preparing for her upcoming project, ‘Ulajh.’
