Is Animal Fight Scene Copied From Bobby Deol's 2001 Film Aashiq? Fans Think So
A video going viral on social media shows quite a similar fight scene from Bobby Deol's 2001 film Aashiq.

Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol starrer action-thriller film Animal amassed massive love from audiences and the craze doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. While Ranbir Kapoor received much-deserved appreciation for his performance, actor Bobby Deol also received the same kind of love from fans for his role. Despite having very limited screen time, the actor made his presence felt, emerging as one of the wildest villains in Indian films. With that said, one of the most talked about scenes of the actors is the last fight on the runway. However, fans have now found an uncanny resemblance between the scene and a similar sequence from the actor’s 2001 film Aashiq.

A video is going viral on the internet, showing a scene from the 2001 film Aashiq where Bobby Deol fights with Rahul Dev. While Bobby sports a white shirt and blue jeans stained with blood, Rahul Dev appears shirtless.

In reaction to the video shared on Reddit, fans couldn’t help but draw parallels between the particular scene and a similar scene in Bobby Deol and Ranbir Kapoor in Animal where the lead actors got engaged in a shirtless brawl on the runway.

A user wrote, “I am 100% sure Vanga saw this before shooting/thinking about that Animal scene,” while another one wrote, “Lord bobby meets lord Rahul. I strongly believe vanga is lord bobby fan. Aashiq was our animal back in the day.”

“I KNEW it wasn’t deja vu!!!!!!! In the cinema I kept thinking I’ve seen this before!” a third user commented.

Notably, this is not the first time that claims of scenes being copied have been made. Earlier, it was said that the corridor scene was copied from the Korean film Old Boy. However, stunt master Supreme Sundar, who choreographed this action sequence clarified it was not copied from anywhere.

“The director wanted a real fight in the scene. It is not copied from anywhere. This kind of style is common in Korean films but comparing it or calling it a copy is not right,” he said.

About Animal

Besides Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial also features actors Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in prominent roles. The film might have completed a month in cinemas but it went on to create some impressive records at the box office.

Recently, Animal surpassed Siddharth Anand’s action flick Pathaan to become the second highest-earning film of 2023. Despite facing tough competition from biggies like Salaar Part One: Ceasefire and Dunki, Animal managed to maintain its grip over audiences and draw people over the extended holiday weekend.
