'I Felt Bad': Randeep Hooda On Aishwarya Rai Winning More Awards For Sarbjit Than Him
Randeep Hooda explained that it is "not helpful" to measure "the value of an artist" based on the number of awards.

Randeep Hooda in a recent interview recalled the success of his 2016 film Sarbjit. He played the lead in the film, alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The film won several awards, including international ones. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, the 47-year-old actor reacted to the fact that Aishwarya took home more awards than he did for her portrayal. Randeep played the title role of Sarabjit Singh, a man who spent 22 years in prison for alleged acts of terrorism and espionage. He was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1991.

Randeep Hooda explained that it is “not helpful” to measure “the value of an artist” based on the number of awards. The recognition you get from your brotherhood can be encouraging, but I can only say that I am happy for Aishwarya that she won, even if I didn’t. To complain now that I deserve more would be indecent. If people say that, it’s a victory in itself,” explained Randeep Hooda, as reported by Indian Express.

He also made it clear that he does not like to participate in such conversations. “Did I feel bad? Of course, I have. But it’s not as if the world has gone down,” said Randeep Hooda and explained that he will continue striving for better work.

Randeep Hooda also believed that it would destroy him if he left control of his self-image to others. He spoke on several occasions about his extreme methods of adapting to the role of Sarbjit. Randeep Hooda is known for his devotion to his unconventional roles. Recently, he lost an incredible amount of weight for Swatantra Veer Savarkar. His fans also called him “Indian Christian Bale” because of his shocking transformation.

Randeep Hooda has acted in many hit movies like Highway, Inspector Avinash, Operation Fryday, Cat, and Radhe. He has showcased his remarkable acting skills in many projects but remains a lesser-known actor compared to his counterparts. He said in an interview that earlier he did a lot of films with first-time directors which didn’t reach the audiences.
