And Manisha Koirala, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in November 2012 and underwent an intensive treatment that lasted for six month, stands as an apt example.

She not only survived the painful chemotherapy sessions that she attended at New York's Sloan Kettering Hospital, but also proved that with mental strength and will power one can put up a good fight against the disease.

Manisha, who has put failed marriage behind her, may have made several public appearances in the recent past. But her first appearance as a judge of a popular beauty contest, which was aired on the small screen last night brought to the viewers a different Manisha.

The actress, who has several dignified films to her credit to prove her acting credibility, looked cheerful as she showed off her short hairdo. The Babita Malkani creation she decided to wear might not have been the perfect fashion choice, but the perfect positive attitude with which she carried herself, made all the impact.

While many (who watched the show) were busy lauding Manisha as she flashed smiles to the contestants, Twitter exploded with the users sharing their reaction. Twitter user Jenny was quite elated to see icoinic actress on the small screen.

Best known for her roles in acclaimed films like 'Saudagar'; 'Bombay', 'Dil Se', Manisha also shared the stage with '1942 - A Love Story' co-star Anil Kapoor. Even though the beauty contest saw several memorable performances by stars Shahid Kaoor, Kareena Kapoor, Jaqueline Fernandes, what really stood out was the chemistry which Anil and Manisha shared as they put up their impromptu jig.
