Heeramandi Star Jason Shah On His Past Relationships: 'I Hope To Make Better Decisions'

Sanjay Leela Bhansali marked his OTT debut with the epic drama series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. It showcases the clash between the courtesans in Lahore’s Heeramandi and British officials. While the show features renowned faces like Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Sanjeeda Shaikh, among others, a few new faces were also introduced like Sharmin Segal as Alamzeb, Taha Shah as Tajdar and Jason Shah as British police officer Cartwright. A British-Indian actor, Jason, played a significant role in the show.

As the show continues to stir a lot of discussion on the internet, the actor recently opened up on his experience with Heeramandi, his co-stars, the controversial “rape” scene and deets from his personal dating life. For those who don’t know, Jason Shah was reportedly dating VJ actress Anusha Dandekar; however, their relationship was short-lived.

Recalling the mistakes he made in previous relationships, Jason Shah shared that he wants to find a person who understands the emotion of love. “When you are with someone, whoever it is, I had a few girlfriends with whom things did not work out. But I think I am now going to make a better choice. Instead of just because it feels good, for me, that’s where I was going wrong. Now I hope that I find a person who knows what love is. I think everybody has an emotion about it. People think love is a feeling, but it is really not a feeling. You get beautiful feelings, but love takes a lot of maturity, understanding, and learning. I personally think it is the reaction that comes from that action,” he told ETimes in an interview.

The actor also hoped to make a better decision about his future relationship and find a life partner.

Without making a direct mention of his ex-girlfriend Anusha Dandekar, Shah, in a veiled comment, also shared that he had a “spiritual change” in his life after the breakup, which made him wiser. He recalled how the “other person” was trying to make him fit in the box and didn’t understand or listen to him, thus causing complications in the relationship.
