Famke Janssen Opens Up About Reprising Jean Grey’s Character In Deadpool 3
Famke Janssen, who played Jean Grey in X-Men films, left the doors open for a comeback in the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine film.

The upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine film, featuring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s bromance, promises to be a treat for superhero fans. The movie is packed with numerous Easter eggs and cameos of known characters. The recent trailer gave hints about the return of certain villains and X-Men members, along with a new version of Wolverine, but the other main X-Men cast members were nowhere to be seen. Famke Janssen, known for playing Jean Grey, recently provided hints about her return to the Marvel universe.

Janssen’s character hasn’t appeared on the big screen since X-Men: The Last Stand, along with cameo appearances in Wolverine and X-Men: Days of Future Past. In a recent interview with Comic Book, the actress has not ruled out the possibility of reprising her role and left the doors open for a comeback in the highly anticipated MCU movie.

The actress spoke about Grey’s return rumours, while promoting her new movie, Boy Kills World. She said, “I don’t know. I mean, I didn’t expect to come back after dying as Jean Grey. I came back as the Phoenix in X-Men: The Last Stand and I came back in flashback scenes in The Wolverine and then in Days of Future Past. So these were all surprises that I never anticipated. I don’t know. I doubt it, but you never know.”

Following Famke Janssen’s character Jean Grey sacrifices herself in X2: X-Men United, she later gets resurrected in X-Men: The Last Stand as the powerful mutant Phoenix. Despite Wolverine’s heartbreaking decision to end her life once more, her memory continued to haunt him in following films, The Wolverine and X-Men: Days of Future Past, where she appeared alongside James Marsden’s Cyclops in the alternate timeline.

In an earlier interview with Variety, Karan Soni, who played Dopinder in the Deadpool franchise, spoke about surprising cameos and Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine/Logan in the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine. He shared, “When we were making the second one, Ryan was plotting back then. I remember him spilling that at lunch one day that he had started a conversation with Hugh. I remember saying, ‘People are going to flip out.’ Then the studio got sold to Disney and a lot of other stuff happened. But, of course, Ryan followed through because it was dream casting. There are a lot of surprises. Let’s just say a lot of people travelled to London.”

Meanwhile, in her upcoming film, Boy Kills World Famke Janssen stars opposite Bill Skarsgard, Jessica Rothe, Michelle Dockery, Brett Gelman, Isaiah Mustafa, Yayan Ruhian, Nicholas and Cameron Crovetti, Quinn Copeland, Andrew Koji and Sharlto Copley. The movie is scheduled to release on April 26.
