Ellen DeGeneres is a popular American comedian, television host, actress, and writer in Hollywood. Over the years, her talk show has garnered a lot of viewers and has become extremely popular. Being a comedian, Ellen is set to return to streaming giant Netflix with a new stand-up special. This is the second time she will bring her stand-up special, six years after the last comic show. The special is expected to be released later in 2024 and will be produced by Ben Winston and Fulwell73. Her fans are quite excited about her return to Netflix and are eagerly awaiting the official release date.
Ellen DeGeneres, a veteran comedian and former talk-show host, previously appeared in the 2018 Netflix special Relatable. Relatable was her first stand-up special in 15 years. The popular television host had actually signed a deal with Netflix for two stand-up specials. Apart from having her second stand-up special, Ellen will also kick off a multi-city stand-up tour on June 19 in San Diego, USA. In a statement reported by Variety, Ellen DeGeneres said, “To answer the questions everyone is asking me, – Yes, I’m going to talk about them. Yes, this is my last special. Yes, Portia really is that pretty in real life.”
While this will be her second time on Netflix, her new special will be her first since the end of her popular daytime talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The show ran for 19 seasons, with many celebrities gracing the show with their presence. However, it went off the air after there were allegations of a toxic workplace, as reported by Buzzfeed News. It was also found that there was an internal investigation and that many key executives were fired from the show. Later, DeGeneres took responsibility for the workplace culture and apologised to her staff.
Talking about Ellen, she is also known for her prolific stand-up comedy career, which includes hosting the Oscars, Emmys, and Grammys. Apart from that, she has also created and hosted the popular ‘Ellen’s Game of Games.’ Her show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, won 33 Daytime Emmy Awards as well.
