DYK Stray Kids Were The Most Talked-About Celebrities At Met Gala 2024?

Dubbed the biggest night in fashion, the Met Gala 2024 took place in New York City on Monday, May 6. The event saw a parade of Hollywood A-listers along with people from fashion, sports, politics and many more showcasing avant-garde fashion at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. While the 2024 Met Gala is officially over for this year, the event did breathe new life into social media. Among all the celebrities who graced the carpet with their extravagant looks, the popular K-pop group Stray Kids seemingly became the most talked-about attendees.

According to the latest data shared by the microblogging platform, over 29 million Met Gala-related posts were shared, followed by almost 400 million video views. Overall, the Met Gala content received around 4 billion total impressions on X.

Stray Kids take over Met Gala 2024

The South Korean boy band made their debut at the 2024 Met Gala on Monday, also becoming the first K-pop group to attend the fashion gala. The eight-member group arrived in Tommy Hilfiger’s signature red, white and blue suits, finished with gold floral detailing, in a nod to the event’s The Garden of Time dress code.

According to the X data, Stray Kids were the top-most mentioned celebrities on the platform, followed by Zendaya in the second position, Ariana Grande in the third, Lana del Rey in the fourth and Kim Kardashian in the fifth.

Further, as per the Brandwatch data, the group also topped the list of most-talked-about celebrities at the Gala with over 533k mentions. This isn’t it, as the Gala stint also made Felix the most-followed K-pop idol on Instagram.

While Stray Kids are not the first K-pop artists to attend the Met Gala, others like Psy, BLACKPINK’s Rose and Jennie, CL and Got7’s Jackson Wang also attended the event. However, this is the first time that an entire group has been invited.

Stray Kids to make summer comeback in July

Months after their last release in November 2023, Stray Kids is now gearing up for their highly-awaited comeback on July 19. According to the Korean media, the group will release their next domestic album. Prior to that, Star Kids will release a special single titled Lose My Breath with Charlie Puth on May 10.
