It’s been five years since the British dark comedy show Fleabag wrapped up after two seasons, leaving fans craving for more of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s unforgettable performance. The show revolved around the adventures of a lively yet troubled young woman in London and the second season explored her complex romance with Andrew Scott’s character. The Sherlock star stole the hearts of fans and people started calling him Hot Priest as he didn’t have a proper name. However, the series finale left fans heartbroken as the pair parted ways and Scott’s character chose God over their relationship. Since the finale, fans are hoping to witness a reunion between Phoebe and Scott in a third season, but Scott recently shared some disappointing news during the red carpet event for his show Ripley.
While acknowledging Fleabag’s popularity, the actor urged fans to move on and encouraged them to enjoy the world beyond their screens. He said, “Go out and get some fresh air. Stop watching. Stop crying. Stop crying in your room with your curtains closed. Do something better with your life. It’s a great show, we all love it, but come on now, pull yourself together. Open the curtains and go outside.”

While fans might not receive the news about the renewal of Fleabag season 3, Andrew Scott recently gave fans a hint about his future collaboration with Phoebe Waller-Bridge in an interview with Collider. Although the news is exciting, Scott clarified that “it’s not Fleabag, I’m sorry to tell you.” Despite this clarification, fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing the talented duo team up for another mystery project.
Fleabag, a groundbreaking series, originated as a one-woman show performed by Phoebe at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The television series was picked up by BBC Three and Amazon Studios, for two seasons. The series premiered on July 21, 2016, and concluded on April 8, 2019. Waller-Bridge portrayed the lead character, known simply as Fleabag, as her real name is never revealed. Alongside Waller-Bridge and Scott, the series featured a talented cast including Sian Clifford as Fleabag’s sister, Olivia Colman as her godmother and stepmother, Bill Paterson as her father, Hugh Skinner as Fleabag’s on-and-off boyfriend and Brett Gelman in a supporting role.
In 2019, Fleabag won a total of six Emmys, while Phoebe Waller-Bridge earned two awards for her outstanding work in writing and lead actress category. In the following year, the series received two Golden Globe nominations. Waller-Bridge was nominated for Best Actress, while the series itself was nominated for Best Television Series in the Musical or Comedy category.
