Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam are teaming up an epic project together after 37 years, titled Thug Life. According to the latest updates, South filmmaker Sudha Kongara has shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the sets of the film, which are now viral on social media. Sudha Kongara, known for directing the critically-acclaimed Saala Khadoos, paid a surprise visit to the sets of Thug Life. Taking to her official X account, she shared some photos from the location. She captioned the tweet: “Energy Booster – Mani Sir’s sets." In the photos, she is seen standing behind her mentor Mani Ratnam. Filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar is also present.

Before officially debuting as a director, Sudha Kongara worked with Mani Ratnam as associate director for seven years. She made her directorial debut with the Tamil film Drohi in 2010. She is best known for the Tamil film Irudhi Suttru, starring R Madhavan, and Ritika Singh. It was simultaneously filmed in Hindi, and released with the title Saala Khadoos. It was produced by S Sashikanth, C V Kumar for Tamil, Madhavan, and Rajkumar Hirani for Hindi, under the banners of UTV Motion Pictures, YNOT Studios, Rajkumar Hirani Films, Tricolour Films for Hindi, and Thirukumaran Entertainment
Thug Life stars Kamal Haasan, Dulquer Salmaan, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Abhirami, Nassar, Joju George and Aishwarya Lekshmi. It is produced by Kamal Haasan, R Mahendran, Mani Ratnam, and Siva Ananth under the banners of Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies. The music in the film is being composed by AR Rahman, while the cinematographer is Ravi K Chandran, and the editor is A Sreekar Prasad.
The title announcement teaser of the film went viral upon its release a few months ago. Shared on the official YouTube channel of Raaj Kamal Films International, the teaser introduces the ruthless character of Kamal Haasan. It has since gained more than 25 million views on the platform.
