Dhanush-starrer Raayan's Release Date Postponed? What We Know

Dhanush is gearing up for a busy year ahead, with many film projects in his pipeline. Among his upcoming projects, Raayan holds special importance as it marks his 50th film as an actor and director. The project is now in its post-production phase. Raayan was scheduled to release worldwide on June 13, 2024, in theatres. According to the latest reports, the release date has been delayed as the post-production work is not complete. Reports suggest that Raayan is expected to be released in July. Two songs from the film, Adangatha Asuran and Water Packet, have been released and have been well received. The trailer and audio launch of the film are expected to be held soon. Yesterday, Dhanush posted that the background score of the film is done. He shared a photo of AR Rahman, whose back side is towards the camera. A big screen, displaying a scene from the film, can be seen in front of AR Rahman. Sharing the post, he commented, “Raayan background score is done. A storm is coming” in the caption.

The movie also features Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in pivotal roles. Raayan, directed by Dhanush and produced by Sun Pictures, completed filming in December. The technical team for the film comprises cinematographer Om Prakash, editor Prasanna GK, and action choreographer Peter Hein.

As per reports, the movie’s audio launch would take place on June 1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Reports suggest, Raayan’s composer AR Rahman’s concert will also be organised at this audio launch. Raayan is billed as a gangster drama set against the backdrop of north Chennai.

This film is expected to be another milestone in Dhanush’s remarkable career. To celebrate the Tamil New Year, Dhanush released a new poster of Raayan. This poster featured Dhanush alongside his co-stars Kalidas, Sundeep, and the debutante female lead, Dushara Vijayan. This poster features the first look of Dushara Vijayan’s character, which received immense appreciation from viewers.

Dhanush’s next projects include Shekhar Kammula’s Kubera, Mari Selvaraj’s D 52, and Arun Matheswaran’s Ilaiyaraaja biopic. He is also all set to direct the upcoming project titled Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK).
