Vidya Balan is back! The actress, who is known to deliver powerful performances, is all set to impress one and all with her performance in Begum Jaan. The multi-starrer film, has a bevy of stars, from Naseeruddin Shah to Rajit Kapur to Ashish Vidyarthi, to Gauahar Khan to Ila Arun- the period drama, set in the time of partition narrates the story of a brothel that comes in between the Indian- Pakistan border. Vidya plays the madam of the brothel and along with her girls, she fights the system but refuses to vacate the house. While all actors look impressive in their parts, it is Chunky Panday who looks strikingly different.
The film is directed by Srijit Mukherji who directed the critically acclaimed Bengali film Rajkahini on which Begum Jaan is based. Produced by Vishesh Films, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on 14th April.
