Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk brought laughter to theatres with their comedy-drama Bad Newz. If you missed the opportunity to see it on the big screen, the movie is finally available on the OTT platform. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film follows Triptii’s character, Saloni Bagga, who faces unexpected trouble, after finding out she’s pregnant by two different men, Akhil Chadha and Gurbir Singh Pannu, played by Vicky and Ammy, respectively. This leads to a series of funny and chaotic events. For those not aware, the 2024 movie is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit Good Newwz, which featured Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh. Now, you can enjoy the latest movie from the comfort of your home, but there’s a bit of a catch.
When and where to watch:
Bad Newz is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, but viewers will be required to pay a rental fee of Rs 349, even if you’re a subscriber. As of now, there is no update about when the movie will be included for Prime members. Along with a talented lead cast, the film also features Neha Dhupia, Sheeba Chaddha, Gajraj Rao and Faisal Rashid in key roles.
While Vicky Kaushal has been earning praise for his dance moves in the song Tauba Tauba, Triptii Dimri, on the other hand, has also caught attention, thanks to her last role in Animal. Director Anand Tiwari once shared that Karan Johar was impressed by Triptii’s performances in Bulbbul and Qala, due to which, he recommended her for this film.
Speaking with Indian Express, the filmmaker said, “Karan sir recommended Triptii to me while she was still being considered for Animal, she was not a part of the film yet, so we went with Triptii for her skills, we saw Bulbbul and then Qala and we absolutely loved her. And then when I saw her on set, that girl is a talent that will last. Woh lambi race ki ghodi hai. Triptii Dimri is a Vicky Kaushal in the making. She is again somebody who comes from nowhere, she comes from a very rooted background, you will be more than pleasantly surprised with the performance in the film.”
