At Santhanam's Inga Naan Thaan Kingu Screening, Women And Differently-abled Get Free Tickets
On the first day, the Tamil film Inga Naan Thaan King minted around Rs 1 crore in net revenue in India.

Actor Santhanam’s latest film Inga Naan Thaan Kingu was released on May 17 after an extensive shooting in Chennai. The film received a positive response and did decent business at the box office. Directed by Anand Narayan, written by Ezhichur Aravindan and produced by Gopuram Films, the Tamil action comedy stars Santhanam in the lead role alongside Priyalaya and Thambi Ramaiah.

The film was recently screened at Raja Theater and PVR Cinemas in Puducherry, Tamil Nadu. As a part of the celebration, Arun, the State President of the Puducherry Santhanam Chief Fan Club, organised a special event where he honoured Santhanam’s cutout with a flower garland and a tribute with 5 litres of milk.

Additionally, Arun distributed free movie tickets to over a hundred women and differently-abled individuals for the first screening of the film. As a unique gift, each attendee received a jackfruit. Arun explained that the gesture of giving jackfruits was to ensure the importance of conserving natural resources.

On its first day, Inga Naan Thaan King collected approximately Rs 1 crore in net revenue in India. The film achieved an overall occupancy of 19.90% in Tamil on Friday, May 17, 2024. The occupancy was spread across different show times with morning shows attaining 15.80%, afternoon shows attaining 18.76%, evening shows attaining 19.07% and night shows attaining 25.95%. The film’s opening day performance reflects the moderate audience turnout across the different time slots.

Inga Naan Thaan Kingu also stars Vivek Prasanna, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Swaminathan, Cool Suresh, Lollu Sabha Seshu and Manobala. The film’s soundtrack and background music are composed by D Imman, cinematography by Om Narayan and editing by M Thiyagarajan.

The plot of the film is based on Vetri (Santhanam), a hapless single man desperate for a life partner, who falls into a trap and ends up marrying into a debt-ridden family. A series of amusing incidents ensue. When a terrorist dies in Vetri’s apartment, he and his quirky in-laws embark on a chaotic mission to retrieve the body from the morgue and claim their reward.
