Gangs of Godavari star Vishwak Sen justified Nandamuri Balakrishna pushing Anjali at the film’s pre-release event. The actor, in a press conference on Thursday, said that Balakrishna is a good man and the incident is blowing out of the proportion. He said that the incident is ‘nothing serious’ and that Balakrishna is a good man. Anjali is yet to comment on the incident.
“He (Balakrishna) is such a good man, he will take something serious also jovially. We also need to understand what needs to be taken seriously and what need not,” he said. Vishwak noted, “Everyone is reacting only to a portion of the video; no one saw what happened after (he shoved Anjali).” He seemingly suggested that it was okay to pass it off as yet another incident since Anjali laughed it off.
Producer Naga Vamsi also defended the actor-politician. “Suppose there are three people, suppose I ask you to move and you don’t, so I casually push you. That’s all that happened there. This is happening because people have planned to turn it into a controversy.” He added, “They high-fived each other after, why is no one talking about that.”
Appalling behaviour by Balakrishna and an understandable reaction by the junior artist who laughed it off, but the most horrifying part of this video is the crowd’s reaction to a blatant act of assault, cheering and hooting in approval. pic.twitter.com/kVO1UgYsP1

For the unversed, Balakrishna was seen pushing away Anjali on stage after she couldn’t hear him. While Anjali laughed it off, social media users slammed him. Director Hansal Mehta called Balakrishna a ‘scumbag’ for pushing Anjali on stage. Taking to X, he condemned the act. “Who is this scumbag?”
Actor Nakuul Mehta has also criticized Balakrishna’s actions, calling them ridiculous. Nakuul expressed his dismay on X, formerly known as Twitter. Nakuul wrote, “Not one person expressed their discomfort. Not one. Ridiculous behaviour by the gent.”
