Ananya Panday, Suhana Khan, Navya Nanda and Shanaya Kapoor’s bond is pure friendship goals. Like any girl group, they also have their exclusive group chat. During a chat with an entertainment portal, Ananya, who is now promoting her web series Call Me Bae’ offered viewers a sneak peek into her friendship with Suhana, Shanaya and Navya and revealed the humorous names of their WhatsApp groups.
Ananya said, “Shanaya, Suhana, and I have a group called Charlie’s Angels, and (the one including) Navya is named Ananya’s fans,” as quoted by Filmygyan. The four of them have grown up together and are often spotted hanging out around.
Ananya praised her best friends for maintaining their unique voices, even though they share the same aspirations. “I love them the way they are,” she said. Describing the personalities of Khan and Kapoor, she said Suhana is the most loving, and Shanaya is very hardworking and sincere while terming herself a ‘full-on drama queen’.
Time and again, Ananya has shared how important her friendship with Suhana, Shanaya and Navya is in her life. Earlier this year, in an interview with Femina India, Ananya said, “For me, it’s my grounding source. It makes me feel normal. It makes me feel comfortable. I can be myself. I don’t think anyone can understand you like your girlfriends do. The empathy, the sensitivity they have, no one can replace that in your life.”
Meanwhile, Ananya Panday has most recently made her OTT debut with the Prime Video online show, Call Me Bae. Speaking about the show during the trailer launch, Ananya said, “It’s like a mix of Schitt’s Creek, Clueless, Aisha, and Nancy Drew. I don’t think we’re really getting to watch (such films and series) right now. It’s the kind of show that I enjoy watching. It’s very light, young adult, happy, and fun. Even though Bae has a bit of all these characters (in her), she is fully her own person.”
The series was written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar and Rohit Nair and directed by Colin D’Cunha. It was produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment and stars Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra and Mini Mathur in major parts. The plot revolves around a billionaire fashionista who, following a scandalous incident, is disowned by her ultra-rich family and is forced to navigate life alone.
Ananya also has several projects in the pipeline, including CTRL, a cyberthriller film helmed by Vikramaditya Motwane.
