Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar will not be a part of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding celebrations. The Sarfira actor was personally invited by Anant a few weeks ago. However, a new report has claimed Akshay will not be attending the wedding bash. It is reported that Akshay has been diagnosed with Covid-19, due to which, he will give the star-studded affair a miss.
“Akshay Kumar had been promoting his latest release Sarfira when he felt unwell, and decided to get tested after being told that some crew members of his promotions team had tested positive for covid. The actor tested positive on Friday morning, and would end up missing the last leg of promotions, as well as Anant Ambani’s wedding for which Anant had personally gone to invite him. It’s disappointing but the responsible guy that Akshay is, he has immediately isolated himself,” a source close to the actor told Hindustan Times.
A few weeks ago, Anant Ambani was seen visiting Akshay’s home to personally invite him to the wedding ceremony. He was one of the first few Bollywood stars who were invited for the wedding. Akshay was also present at the pre-wedding celebrations, which took place in March.
While fans will miss Akshay at the bash, several other stars are expected to attend. These include Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding ceremonies will start on July 12, with the auspicious Shubh Vivah or wedding function. The dress code is Indian traditional. July 13 will be the day of Shubh Aashirwad and the dress code is Indian formal. July 14 will be the Mangal Utsav or the wedding reception and the dress code is Indian chic. All these functions will be held in BKC.
