Amar Kaushik Reveals Important Details About Stree 3, Says 'There's Story Still Left To Be Told'
Ahead of the release of Stree 2, Amar Kaushik revealed some details about a possible sequel titled Stree 3.

The wait is finally over for fans as Stree 2, the much-awaited sequel featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, is all set to grace the silver screen this Independence Day extended weekend. Under the direction of Amar Kaushik, this upcoming film has been creating quite a buzz, particularly with its teaser debuting alongside another spooky chuckle fest from the shared universe, Munjya. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s even news buzzing about Stree 3.

With the imminent arrival of Stree 2, the burning question looms large: Are we in store for a Stree 3? Shedding light on this query, Kaushik shared with Hindustan Times, “There is a possibility. There’s story still left to be told and characters left to be explored. A call will be taken after the film’s [Stree 2] release. There is a possibility of Stree 3, 4 and 5. But we first have to see how much the audiences accept the upcoming film. As for me, if there is a demand, if I’m asked, I will make [Stree 3]. But, I won’t make it just for the sake of it. There should be demand [from the audience]. Story mere paas hain, demand ayegi toh main bana dunga.”

In a much-anticipated development, the teaser for Stree 2 made its grand debut on Tuesday, rekindling memories of the eerie ‘stree’ who had sown fear in the heart of Chanderi in its predecessor. True to the hints from the first installment’s conclusion, the phantom of ‘stree’ has returned to cast its shadow over the town once more. Fan favorites Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee are making a comeback alongside Shraddha Kapoor, with a new addition—Tamannaah Bhatia—peeking into the teaser.

The teaser tantalizingly suggests a reunification of the town’s residents to combat the malevolent ‘stree’ once more. While keeping the storyline under wraps, it seems that Stree 2 is gearing up to deliver another round of spine-tingling excitement.

Arriving on the scene in 2018, Stree took the industry by storm with its unique blend of horror and comedy, setting a new trend in Hindi cinema. Garnering a colossal Rs 130 crore at the domestic box office, the film not only emerged as a massive success but also marked a milestone in Rao’s career as his most significant hit to date. Remarkably, even after six years, Stree still holds the title as his crowning achievement.
