Akshay Kumar Announces 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' New Release Date, Hours After Ajay Devgn Pushed 'Maidaan' to April 11
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, will now release in theatres on April 11, a day later to its original release on 10th April.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, will now release in theatres on April 11, on the occasion of Eid, the film’s leading men announced on Instagram. Akshay and Tiger, who are currently in the UAE to promote their film, took to Instagram to share a video explaining the reason for the delay. The film was originally scheduled to release on 10th April.

Sharing the video, Akshay wrote, “Bade aur Chote aur poori Bade Miyan Chote Miyan ki team ki taraf se aap sab ko advance mein Eid Mubarak. Dekhiye #BadeMiyanChoteMiyan on Eid with your entire family, now releasing on 11th April only in cinemas.” As Eid will be celebrated in India on 11th April, the makers have decided to push the release by a day.

Interestingly, Akshay’s announcement comes hours after the makers of Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan decided to shift their film’s release date from 10th April to 11th April.

Ajay Devgn shared a new poster of Maidaan on his Instagram handle and wrote, “Mark your calendars! #Maidaan release across cinemas in India on 10th April, with special previews starting 6pm onwards. Full scale release to follow on the Eid holiday on 11th April. Reserve your seats now! (Link in bio).” Apart from Ajay Devgn, the film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and many other young actors. The words on the poster read, “Paid previews start Wednesday 10th April from 6 pm. Maidaan in cinemas Thursday 11th April.”

Maidaan explores the golden years of Indian football in the early 1950s and 60s under coach Syed Abdul Rahim. In the film helmed by Amit Sharma, Ajay will essay the role of the coach.

Recently, speaking with news agency PTI, Amit Sharma talked about his experience of working with Ajay. “If a superstar has agreed to do a film, it’s an advantage as the mounting of a film will become bigger…When Ajay Devgn used to enter the sets, he used to keep the Ajay Devgn persona outside, and enter like Syed Abdul Rahim, his character. He came prepped on sets with his dialogues. Not once he said, ‘The trousers are loose, how am I looking?’ He would be like, ‘Tell me what you want me to do, I’ll do it’. He is a director’s actor,” Amit said.
