Actress Lakshmi Menon says she is planning to quit the industry soon, as she is not happy with the kind of roles being offered to her.
"Most filmmakers in Kollywood bring to me scripts that have me either playing a village girl or a girl-next-door. I am extremely bored essaying the same kind of roles in all my films - it is getting too repetitive. I need a break from this, so I am planning to quit soon," says Lakshmi.
When asked about signing more movies, she replied, "I may, if I get a strong script where there is some scope of showing my acting mettle. I want to be a performer, and not just another heroine. But even then, I am not sure about it," she says, adding, "As of now, I need to concentrate on my Class XII board exams, as my only goal at the moment is scoring good marks."
Lakshmi has also planned out what she wants to do once she passes out of school. "I am planning to do English literature. I may also go for a fashion designing course as it might help me find work of a different kind within the film industry itself, in future."
