Suffering From Hypertension Or Diabetes? Why Flu Vaccine Is Necessary During Monsoon
As per Dr Anil Bansal, a senior physician, monsoon is the time when bacteria and viruses grow the most.

The seasons of summer and monsoon can be very unpredictable in India. Sometimes the temperature could go as high as 50 degrees Celsius and the other it may come close to 30 degrees Celsius. Being in such an environment, an individual is at a high risk of contacting flues because viruses and bacteria thrive in this climate. In the next few days, the weather is predicted to be changing, so listen to an expert on how to protect yourself from flues and infections.

According to Dr Anil Bansal, a senior physician and former president of the Delhi Medical Association, the monsoon season is the time when bacteria and viruses grow the most. So, the flu and viral outbreaks like influenza increase rapidly during this period, badly affecting the people. To stay protected from ailments, a person can get a flu vaccine or a flu shot, the doctor advises. The vaccine can be taken once a year or every six months after you have consulted a physician.

Dr Anil Bansal says that the flu shot can help in preventing four major influenza viruses during this unpredictable climate. Keep in mind that the effectiveness of the shot also depends on the body type of a person. For most people, the vaccine can prove to be an immunity booster. The children and the elderly can contract the infections more easily, so extra care is needed. Furthermore, the vaccine can be administered to the elderly and children as young as 6 months.

Health experts consider the vaccine a very safe option for people suffering from various ailments. Those who suffer from diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer or any other serious illness can also administer the flu shot, which may reduce the risk of different infections. As per the information given, viral infections can become fatal for people with serious health issues. So, after talking to their respective doctors, the individual can get the flu shot. After the flu, you may experience a sore throat or cold, but it will just be a mild infection.
