Dr Abhai Verma, director of the gastroenterology department of Medanta Hospital, Lucknow, told News18 about the solutions to overcome this health issue.

2. Drinking 3-4 liters of water daily- Consuming 3-4 liters of water regularly can help in proper bowel movements, prevent constipation, and support overall gastrointestinal health. Abundant hydration helps the body eliminate waste products properly and aids in maintaining the balance of essential bodily functions.

3. Adding vegetables- Including veggies in the diet can also significantly alter the course of a constipated stomach. As per WebMD, people should aim to eat 2 cups of fruit and 2 1/2 cups of vegetables every day.

4. Exercise- Getting up and moving can also help ease the constipation. Regular walking — even a couple of minutes several times a day — can help the digestive system work at its best. Fit people might choose aerobic exercise: running, jogging, swimming, or dancing.

5. Consult a doctor in case of rectal bleeding- Rectal bleeding or bleeding from anus is a symptom of many different conditions, including hemorrhoids, anal fissures. These conditions also include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colorectal cancer. You may notice rectal bleeding on your toilet paper when you wipe or when you see blood in your stool. In this case, the people should immediately consult a doctor and procure treatment.
