Even while serving in the country’s military, BTS’ youngest member, Jungkook, continues to make headlines and create history. Recently, he achieved a significant milestone with his song Standing Next to You, which reclaimed the top position on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart. The announcement on December 27 highlighted that the track secured the leading spot, making it the best-selling song of the week in the United States. Standing Next to You has now accomplished five non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart, contributing to a total of seven weeks on the chart overall.
This accomplishment ties Jungkook with Miley Cyrus’s Flowers for the 2023 song with the most weeks at No. 1, reports Soompi. The success extends beyond this chart, as Standing Next to You made its debut at No. 39 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart. This chart measures weekly plays on mainstream Top 40 radio stations in the United States.

Jungkook’s impact extends globally, with three songs charting on both of Billboard’s global charts. On the Global Excl. U.S. chart, Standing Next to You ranked at No. 11, Seven featuring Latto at No. 12, and 3D at No. 36. Major milestones continue for Jungkook, who has made history as the first K-pop soloist to spend 19 weeks on Billboard’s Artist 100, reaching No. 24 in the latest rankings.
