Biryani, Kebabs, Shahi Tukda: Pakistan Team Prefers Ordering Food Online Over Meal at Kolkata Hotel- Report
Ahead of their must-win game against Bangaldesh, Pakistan have once again hogged the spotlight for their food preferences; this time in Kolkata.

Batter and bruised Pakistan cricket team arrived in Kolkata for their next World Cup fixture against Bangladesh on Tuesday at the iconic Eden Gardens. The men in green are on the verge of getting knocked out after losing four consecutive games and are placed 7th on the tally with just 4 points. With the least chance of a top-four finish, the Babar Azam-led side needs to win all three remaining games to at least secure a berth in the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Meanwhile, the neighbours have once again hogged the spotlight for their food preferences at the team hotel in Kolkata. As per Sports Tak, the Pakistan cricketers preferred ordering their meals from an online food ordering app rather than having what was available at the hotel.

The report stated that the visitors put online orders for Biryani, Chaap, Firni, Kebabs and Shahi Tukda from one of the famous restaurants of Kolkata. The team arrived in the City of Joy on October 28, where they were welcomed with sweet curds, a variety of sweets and patties.

It has been learned that the team took a day off on Monday and will resume training on the eve of their must-win clash against Bangladesh.

Head coach Grant Bradburn said the team is hurting from their woeful World Cup where wins over the Netherlands and Sri Lanka have been followed by defeats to India, Australia, Afghanistan and South Africa.

“We’re in a position that we didn’t want to be,” said Bradburn whose team also has a poor net run-rate of -0.38.

“We were determined at this stage of the tournament to be in control of our destiny but we’re not.

“That hurts the group and all we can do now is control what we can control, and that is prepare well for three remaining pool games and then allow fate to hopefully lean on us in terms of our semi-final hopes from there,” he added.

Pakistan Cricket in turmoil

The Pakistan cricket team and the management back home are going through a rough phase at the moment. While the team has underperformed in the ongoing ODI World Cup, the cricket board is criticised for not giving the players their salaries.

However, the PCB said that contracts have been sent to India and the players have signed. That should pave the way for payments to be organised.
