The districts which will be under lockdown include Agra, Lucknow, Noida, Ghazbaiabd, Moradabad, Barabanki, Varanasi, Kanpur, Azambarg, Bareilly, Meerut, Prayagraj, Aligarh, Gorakhpur and Saharanpur.

Officials said the number of coronavirus infections have increased in the last few days and testing strategy will be calibrated accordingly, but insisted that there would be no “indiscriminate testing”.

The forces have also asked all jawans and officers to fill up a declaration form to state that none of their family members have travelled to any foreign destination in the recent past and in case someone has, they need to be tested or put into isolation...
