Wont tone down Lokayukta

BANGALORE: Governor H R Bharadwaj, while reiterating that he would not allow former Kerala Chief Justice S R Bannurmath to become the next Lokayukta, averred that he will not allow the state government to tone down the Lokayukta.“We need to upgrade and not degrade the Lokayukta,” he added. He, however, expressed confidence to resolve the three-month deadlock over the issue. “I will stick to my word and am confident of finding a solution soon. The CM is reasonably busy. Within the next ten days, he would approach me, after which a dialogue is likely to begin on the appointment,” he addressed reporters here.
