HYDERABAD: Task Force sleuths arrested a woman on Monday, who was allegedly involved in cheating nearly 60 persons of Rs 80 lakh on the pretext of providing jobs in the State Bank of India and false promises to get bank loans. K Raghuram Reddy, additional deputy commissioner of police, Task Force said that Putla Sandhya Rani alias Rani, a resident of Rajan Goud Nilayam, Sri Venkateshwara Enclave, Old Bowenapally collected Rs 80 lakh from people with false promises of providing loans and job opportunities in a nationalised bank.Sandhya Rani is native of Kurnool and had worked as a physical education teacher in Bhramarambhika Mallikarjuna School for about four years. Later she migrated to the city about seven years ago and developed acquaintance with several prominent persons and started real estate and saree businesses. “As she incurred losses in those businesses, she started introducing herself as an SBI employee and collecting money in the name of providing bank jobs and bank loans. She used the money to lead a lavish lifestyle,” Raghuram Reddy said. Police arrested the woman and seized property from her. The accused was handed over to Gopalapuram police for further investigation.
